To some people 25 years is a long time.
For us at Vanwell it has been joyous 25 years in Canadian publishing.

Vanwell Publishing started off in 1983 as a distributor and eventually publishing became a part of the process. We have had great success with many titles such as the three books on women of Canada entitled
Her Story. In addition we have built up a solid reputation for our military history publications. A word of thanks is more than appropriate by singling out our managing editor Angela Dobler. She is retiring this year but we will continue to consult her as she will be difficult to replace.

   As a small publisher we are pleased to thank you for your support over the years and sincerely hope this will continue. We are fortunate to have dedicated reps call on you and their work has been immensely helpful to us. Our staff continues to amaze us with their dedication and diligence. Several of them have been with us from almost the beginning. Especially gratifying for a small family-owned business is to know that there is a successor. Our daughter Vanessa continues to head up the imprint of Looking Back Press and our son Simon is learning all the facets needed to succeed in publishing. 

   The exciting world of publishing has given us a wonderful life and we are truly blessed to have met so many fascinating people. That’s what publishing is all about: a people business.

   We continue to be at your service and hope that we will continue to earn your business.
